You want to have the advantage over the dealer. In order to do this, you have to bet bigger, but you have to know when to do this.
To begin with, whenever you bet you have three choices. You can increase your bet, decrease your bet or you can keep it the same. The key here is to know the right time to make each of those choices. It is all based on knowing how to count the cards. Remember that you will do something different each time that your count score is a certain score.
If you have a minimum score then you will either not bet or you will place the minimum bet.
If your score is a +1 or +2, then you should be the minimum bet. If your score is a +3, +4 or +5, then you’ll place a double bet.
If your score is +6, +7, +8, +9 or +10 then you want to place a triple bet or triple whatever the minimum bet is.

If your score is +11 or higher, then your bet will be 4 times the minimum bet. You will see that if the count is higher, then you are going to bet more. This is true because as the score gets higher, you will have a better chance of getting more of the higher cards. These are better than getting the lower cards.
You get a bonus if you score a 21, so you want to bet more when the higher cards are more likely to hit.

Now always remember that your betting is still going to bet within your budget. In other words you only want to bet an amount that you can afford.
In summary, you want to make sure that you only bet an amount that is in your budget or one that you can afford. Remember that you have no control over the cards that are the house deals. The strategy that we are going over is still subject to the cards that dealt.
If the score is negative, then don’t raise or lower the bet, keep it the same. Stay the same until it the count goes higher.
