Unlike most of the casino games, the dealer in the Texas Holdem game does not play. Now in some games played at homes or in the local bar, the dealer may play, but in the casino he does not play.

There is a puck or what is known as a dealer button that moves from player to player after each hand.The button will move clockwise.

In most games there are 10 players. This may vary down to 5 or 6 players based on the type of game that is being played.

The two players that are sitting to the left of the button put in the beginning bet. These bets are called blinds. The name of the bet comes from the fact that everyone places a wager before they get to see their cards.

Of the two blinds, the first blind is put up by the player to the left of the dealer.  That person will put up half of the minimum bet. The next player will put up the full bet.

After the blinds are placed, all of the players are dealt two hands face down. These are also known as hole cards.

As you continue to play the game of Texas Holdem, the bets or blinds are called starting with the first player to the
left of the player that put up the full bet.

The player has some options. He can call the 50 bet and continue playing, he can raise or he can fold.This will continue around the table until all of the bets or blinds have been called.
